FAQ's
At what age should my child start music lessons?
I work with beginners ages 5 and older. Students only need to be able to sit still for 30 minutes, and have some basic hand and finger coordination.
Do you teach adults?
Yes! It is never too late to learn a new instrument, or brush up your skills.
Do I need an instrument to get started?
Yes, you will need to have your own instrument to practice with at home. There are many different sizes and types, so if you need recommendations feel free to reach out.
What lesson length is best for me (or my child)?
30 minutes is the standard lesson length and is recommended for ages 5-12. Some older teens and adults may opt for 45 or 60 minutes to get the most out of their lessons. Lessons can also be bundled for multiple family members in one house - see rates or contact me for more info.
How much should my child practice each week?
Repetition is the key - it is better to practice even just 5-10 minutes each day of the week, than to practice for an hour once a week. It is also recommended to set aside a regular practice time (for example, after school, or before dinnertime). You and your teacher can establish a practice plan that works for you / your child.
